The Oliver Scholars Program identifies and engages extraordinary New York City students of African and Latino descent and prepares them for success at leading independent high schools and prestigious colleges.
Earlier this week, almost fifty 12 and 13 year-old students gathered in lower Manhattan. They came from 33 middle schools across all five boroughs. They were artists, athletes, and authors, and they represented the top 10 percent of their respective 7th grade classes. Selected from over 600 nominees from across New York City, they were the Oliver Scholars class of 2019.

Join us as we honor the classes of 2014 and 2018 at our annual Recognition Ceremony, featuring a keynote speech from Oliver’s Founder John Hoffman. For more information, please click here.
The true value of the Oliver Scholars Program is best demonstrated through the words and deeds of our Scholars and alumni. In this space we will share their stories. For example, Chanel Duncan wrote Oliver Echoes for us last summer. If you are a Scholar and wish to tell us your story, please send an e-mail to email@example.com
